The car I recently purchased from CarMax was acting up intermittently and after CarMax wasn't able to replicate the issue, I took it to these guys. They treated me with respect. As a young woman, this experience can be rare at auto shops. I knew something was wrong with my car... it was just very hard for me to describe. They took the time to drive it around to try to replicate the issue, but most importantly they were honest. They found dirty transmission fluid which CarMax lied to me about checking after I requested.

I brought my Prius V to this shop because the website claims they have expertise in hybrid vehicles. The car has developed a worsening shuddering and rattling problem that was present throughout my drive to the shop. I suspected the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system might be the problem and mentioned that several times, on the phone and in person. They checked for codes and found none and allegedly test-drove the car for 10 miles (though the invoice shows no change in the odometer) without identifying the issue. I received a text with estimated costs for three services unrelated to the problem and ignoring key information I had provided. When I declined these services, they texted: "IF YOU ARE GOING TO DECLINE ALL THE WORK SUGGESTED WHY IS THE CAR HERE?" I then asked for an estimate for inspecting and cleaning the EGR system but was not given one. I paid the diagnostic fee (which included a service I had declined). Not even two blocks after leaving the shop, the shuddering and rattling returned. Based on my experience, this may not be the best place to take your hybrid's drivability concerns if they aren't throwing codes.

Great shop and excellent service. When I saw the performance cars, I knew I had come to the right place. They specialize in all models of vehicles as well as modern and classic muscle cars. Very impressed by their extensive knowledge about LS engines. James and Cliff are friendly, honest and knowledgeable. Alex did a great job changing my spark plugs, wires, valve cover gaskets and fuel injector. My car is running better than ever. Highly recommend McKenzies Auto. I’ll definitely be coming here for all of my future car mods.

I went to a few other shops and inquired about replacing my 1986 trucks old Chevy 305 and replacing it with a 350 engine. I would almost always get the same results "We can do it BUT." There was always that "But" followed by " we may have problems." I was told to check out McKenzies auto. You know your in the right place when you see muscle cars in the shop. After James looked under the hood of my truck he just said " No problem.." The price was such a good deal I replaced my old transmission with a new one too. I didn't get a junkyard engine either , it was built from the block up with all new parts. I have found a new repair shop for my truck. I would highly recommend McKenzies auto to anyone.
